Rock Runner Racing Has Strong Showing At XRRA Finals

Colorado Springs, Colorado (September 28, 2007)Rock Runner Racing's Joachim Schwiesow finished in the top five at the Xtreme Rock Racing Association's season finale in Colorado Springs. Rock Runner Racing ran strong and consistent all day, sitting in the number two position going in to the final shootout. Unfortunately a blown hose disabled the full hydraulic steering on Schwiesow's fifth pass of the day. The Rock Runner Racing crew was able to diagnose and fix this problem in time to complete their final run. This year's XRRA finals was held at the Ram Off-Road Park in Colorado Springs, Colorado in front of approximately 4000 spectators, who stayed until the very end to watch all of the action, despite high winds. In addition to the spectators, print, and online media representing Dirtsports, Petersen's 4Wheel & Off-Road, Crawl, Pirate4x4.com, WickedMag.com, and Off-Road.com were in Colorado Springs to capture the action.

Schweisow was piloting the same vehicle used for rockcrawling competition by his Rock Runner Racing teammate Brian Errea. The only change made to the vehicle from rockcrawling use was the PSC steering ram for a faster ratio, higher axle gears, and the use of prototype BFGoodrich tires. “The BFGoodrich tires really held through the corners” Schwiesow noted, “which was a huge advantage given how technical the courses were.” Although disappointed with the mechanical failure that dashed his hopes of victory, Schwiesow was still pleased to place fifth in a field of 29 of the top drivers from across the nation.
