Dakota Kid Paule Rules Vegas Rocks!
Event Photos
Las Vegas, Nevada (February 25, 2007) Completing his third consecutive W.E. Rock Series competition with a victory is a little know fact that should rock the ranks of professional rockcrawling.
Rock Runner Racing's Jason Paule brought one of his Twisted Custom rock rigs to Nevada's Sin City this weekend for the first W.E. Rock Western U.S. National event of the season at the Fiesta Henderson Casino. With nearly 50 teams competing for positions at the W.E. Rock World Championships later in the year, there is no doubt that reigning World Champion - Jason Paule is in fine form to defend the world title in 2007.
Paule, a resident of Rapid City, South Dakota, arrived to the parking lot of the Fiesta Casino in Henderson, Nevada cool, calm and collective amid all the drama surrounding the smack talking ranks of professional rockcrawlers. After a busy off season building a handful of custom competition chassis the reigning W.E. Rock World Champ got busy on the artificial rock pile set behind the Fiesta Casino.
Driving his own designed and fabricated two-seat competition rock truck off the trailer and into the rockpile was only the beginning for this 26-year old rockcrawling icon.
W.E. Rock competitors have raged on these courses during 2006, however for the first event of 2007 W.E. Rock officials debuted a new massive tube that presented big climbs and technical lines.
To the everyday spectator and weekend wheeler, the obstacles were daunting to look at. Although, that did not faze Paule once he sat behind the wheel of his Twisted Customs truck, Jason Paule utilized the experience that has provided him with numerous championships over the last few seasons capturing his first win of 2007.
"We finished up the day in the lead and heading into the shootout, I felt like we were really clicking. Travis and I communicated really well all day long and I'm happy to be on top again. Competing against the single-seat moon buggies isn't easy and they really have us outclassed but we pulled out a close one today. BFGoodrich Tires and FOX Racing Shox performed beyond our wildest dreams on the rocks of Las Vegas this afternoon to give us this win," said a smiling Jason Paule.
Captivating an audience of a couple thousand in the parking lot of the Vegas Casino, Paule dualed with longtime rival and close friend, Tracy "Steel Horse Cowboy" Jordan and the ever so competitive, Marty Hart, in the final shootout.
"The boys put on a great performance today. It's always a great start of the new season to begin wtih a victory and makes the long drive back to South Dakota a bit easier. It was anybody's game today and Jason really got it done. The support from our sponsors along with our friends and family make this all happen. We couldn't be any happier and we're looking forward to the next event," explained team owner, George Wadeson.
