Rapid City, South Dakota- Joachim has been exploring the Black Hills in his various Land Cruisers his entire life. While working on his degree in business at South Dakota School of Mines, he spent nearly every weekend rock climbing and rock crawling in his FJ40 and FJ60. It was on one of these trips that he met Jason Paule, who introduced him to Brian Errea. Brian and Joachim began competiting together in 2001, winning the first competition they ever entered. The rest, as they say, is history. Joachim is intimately familiar with his vehicle, spotting Brian in rockcrawling competitions and taking over behind the wheel for rock racing.

Joachim makes his living running Twisted Customs with his teammates and business partners. He has a keen eye for detail and handles most of the finish work on customers' rock buggies. Joachim and his wife Kimberly are still active in the Dakota Territory Cruisers, introducing their daughters Kaylee, Maygie, and Lydia to the outdoors.
