Rock Runner Racing Starts 2008 Season with Win

Perris, California (April 14, 2008)Rock Runner Racing arrived at Perris Raceway in Southern California on Friday to compete in a crowded Pro Modified class at WE Rock's Western Nationals season opener. Whispers around the raceway about whether Brian Errea could keep up his winning ways against 23 other competitors and how he would work with Jason Paule at spotter where quieted as soon as the team took to the courses. Rock Runner Racing Unlimited class driver Paule did an excellent job filling in for normal spotter Joachim Schwiesow, who will be back with the team at the next event in Cedar City, Utah.

Rock Runner Racing finished second in last year's Western Nationals series in their Twisted Customs YJ buggy and knows that consistency is key to winning. “That is the reason we have formed relationships with companies like BFGoodrich tires, Fox Shox, PSC steering, Spidertrax, Mastercraft seats and harnesses, Trailready rims, and JE Reel drivelines.” Errea commented. The team was in third place after the first day of competition and despite aggressive driving on the second day, they were unable to reel in Tracy Jordan for second place. They did, however, fend off the vast majority of the field from ending Rock Runner Racing's longtime streak on the podium. Doing so required the team vehicle to climb five foot vertical ledges covered with dust and dirt, and even drop off of a 14 foot high undercut ledge.

The event was held at motocross legend Ricky Johnson's Perris Raceway in front of approximately 1200 fans on each day of competition. Live webcam and radio updates were provided my Pirate4x4.com, and additional media representing Xtreme 4x4 TV, DirtSports magazine, Crawl magazine, 4Wheel Drive & Sport Utility magazine, and WickedMag.com were also in Perris to capture the action. The next stop for Rock Runner Racing will be the XRRA rock race in Albuquerque on May 3rd before heading to Cedar City on May 17th and 18th for the second round of the WE Rock Western Nationals.
